Thare Machi Education, in collaboration with ASASS, World Merit Burundi and other organizations, will hold a Water Education Workshop in Gitega. It is part of the ASASS programme: “Access to water, education and raising awareness of the importance of hygiene and sanitation”.
More than 300 attendees will learn about healthy personal hygiene, sanitation, how to make water safe, and how to stop the spread of diseases.
Water Education Workshop
Location: Vyegwa district in Gitega
Date: 24th of September 2016
Time: 10am – 16pm
Overview
ASASS empowers the communities to make the world a safer and healthier place, by offering water education workshops. A large number of people living in rural areas of many developing countries, particularly Burundi, do not have access to clean drinking water. This increases the dissemination of water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) related diseases.
ASASS believes that global access to safe water, adequate sanitation, and proper hygiene education can reduce illness and death. The workshop will use the Thare Machi Education DVD in “Kirundi” language, to reach larger groups of local people in Gitega.
Invitations
Invitations are sent to local people in the Gitega province, local administration, Gitega Water Management Boards, leaders of NGOs, the teachers, water sector operators, students associations – usually children and youth ages from 5 to 30.
